OUR TEAM
DOUGLAS E. REESE - President
An entrepreneur at heart, Doug began a business at age 12 and started investing at age 16. Doug’s step-father Dr. Robert Barkley, a renowned dentist, was one of the biggest influences in his life. At the age of 14, Doug experienced firsthand the settling of an estate, following Dr. Barkley’s tragic death in a plane crash. That experience solidified Doug’s deep desire to help people protect the value they create, tackle money issues in their lives, and become good stewards of their finances. Doug is a graduate of Western Illinois University where he completed his Bachelor’s in Finance (’85) and MBA in Financial Planning (’86). After a four-year associateship with United Financial Planning and Alternatives for Professionals, Inc., Doug became the co-founder and President of Wealth Associates, Inc. in Denver, CO. He has served as investment manager and financial advisor to dentists throughout of the U.S. since 1987. Doug’s focus in private practice is structuring and managing healthy financial models for dentists and their practices. He recently served as interim C.F.O. for the Dawson Academy and is presently serving as board member and Treasurer to the Peter E. Dawson Foundation. When Doug began his business he also set up his private foundation “The Isaac Foundation” which serves to perpetuate the mission of his step-father Bob Barkley in “humanizing dental education” as well as helping the young and elderly preserve dignity and promote creativity in the “first and final chapters of life.” Doug is an avid outdoorsman, serving as guide and outfitter on horse pack, backpack and elk hunting trips into the backcountry of the Colorado Rocky Mountains for the past 33 years. And his passion for helping those with Alzheimer’s has kept him busy in recent years as an art instructor for the Memories in the Making weekly art program at the Alzheimer’s facility near his home. He lives with his wife Lisa and two children Jacob and Abby in Highlands Ranch, CO.
KIRSTEN RAINEY – Financial Planning Coordinator
For more than a decade Kirsten has served as our primary point of contact for managing the enormous flow of financial information we gather throughout the year to monitor ongoing financial management systems for our client’s personal and professional Financial Plans. Her responsibilities include coordinating financial systems for annual planning retreats with clients, preparing monthly reports for our signature service of “Progress Report” monitoring of personal and professional financial plans, and more recently she has taken on responsibilities as Client Coordinator during the interim period following the retirement of our long-term employee Willa Jefferson. Kirsten maintains close contact with each client as she coordinates weekly planning needs and monthly consultations or meeting schedules. Before joining Wealth Associates, Inc. Kirsten spent more than 10 years with Great-West Life Insurance Co. Kirsten graduated from Texas Christian University in Ft. Worth, Texas with a degree in Business Administration and now lives in the Denver area with her husband and two daughters. She is actively involved in her family, church and community activities and we are privileged to have her as a very competent and valued asset to our team.
CHRISTIE CAMPBELL – Educational Resources Coordinator
Joining Wealth Associates, Inc. at the start of 2009, Christie was given the responsibilities of building our educational resources infrastructure. This began with her organization of the 20 years of written materials Doug has amassed during his career as financial advisor and educator, pulling together thousands of electronic files and boxes of written materials into our identified key learning objectives. Christie has been solely responsible for taking a long-term dream and molding it into the reality of our newly developing Stewardship Resources Library. The end result of this work will be a fully integrated web site where people can design their own financial planning and management system, access our select advisory group of professionals in all areas of financial services and tap into our evolving system of educational materials and events for creating and maintaining wealth. Christie graduated from the University of Redlands with a Bachelor of Music degree in Piano Performance and a second major in Spanish. She went on to receive her Masters in Music in Piano Performance from the University of Colorado in Boulder. In addition to teaching piano privately for over 10 years she has also worked in the travel industry, and most recently for the Safe Side Company which produces stranger safety videos for children. She lives in the Denver area with her husband Roger and children Zack and Brooke. Along with her dedication to family, church and community service, Christie’s interests include hiking, biking, cooking and traveling. Though the newest member of our team, Christie has already proven to be a very valuable addition and the primary driver in our efforts to expand our financial learning resources to the dental community.
